Storactive Launches LiveServ for Microsoft Exchange to Eliminate Data Vulnerabilities and Provide Continuous Email Server Protection

MARINA DEL REY, CA April 8, 2004 -– Storactive® Inc., the leader in continuous data protection technology, has announced Storactive LiveServ™ for Exchange, the industry's first continuous backup and zero data loss recovery software that ensures availability and business continuance for Microsoft Exchange Server. Used as a stand-alone or complementary solution to an IT organizations' existing backup application, LiveServ does not require a storage architecture overhaul. By overcoming the limitations of traditional tape-based backup products to protect data between backups, LiveServ recovers data up to the moment of loss. Its disk-to-disk backup enables fast, transparent protection and captures every version of every brick (for example an email message, schedule update, contact or specific note), so that any version can be recovered immediately from disk. Built for dynamic scalability, LiveServ captures changes in real-time, regardless of number of users or amount of data, thus removing the data vulnerability that exists between scheduled backups in a traditional tape backup scenario. Since LiveServ restores data from disk, not from tape, it provides quick and easy restoration of everything from a single email message to an entire data store. LiveServ also integrates with existing tape backup products making management of older Exchange data and the migration to Exchange 2003 easy.
